Aviation Expert. AVI-1854 has over 38 years of experience in aviation, including thirteen years as a U.S. Navy pilot. He is qualified in transport-category aircraft, and has supervised operational aviation units in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. In the U.S. Navy, he had wartime experience in aircraft carrier operations, commanded a remote island-based unit, and gained extensive experience in aircraft maintenance, aircrew training and scheduling, and operations management. AVI-1854 was an airline executive in the maintenance and operations divisions of the original National Airlines (in Miami in the 1970s) and Pan American World Airways (in New York).
