Michael D. Levine, MD is a Medical Toxicology and Emergency Medicine Expert Witness and a double Board Certified in Medical Toxicology and Emergency Medicine. He is currently an Attending physician; Medical Toxicologist, Keck School of USC; an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the LA County-USC Medical Center; and the Director of Hyperbaric Medicine at USC.
Dr. Levine completed BS in Gerontology at University of Southern California in December 1999 and Medical Doctorate at Finch University and the Chicago Medical School in 2004; his residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA; and completed a fellowship in medical toxicology at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Levine has frequently made appearances for media interviews about several topics. Some of these interviews are: Drinking automobile products on KTVK, Arizona Family Channel (14 Feb, 2011); Caffeine in alcoholic beverages on KSAZ, Fox News – Phoenix (17 Nov, 2010); Heat deaths following sweat lodge deaths on KTVK, Arizona Family Channel (12 Oct, 2009) and Heat illness in athletes on KNXV, ABC News – Phoenix (24 July, 2009).
Academically, Dr. Levine has given lectures on various topics such as:- “Dangerous ingestions in the pediatric population” – EDAP Course, LA County – USC Medical Center; “Pitfalls in the management of the poisoned patient” – Grand Rounds, University of Southern California; “Cocaine Toxicity: An algorithmic approach” – Essentials of Emergency Medicine, Las Vegas, NV and “Toxic Alcohols” Department of Emergency Medicine, Grand Rounds, University of Oklahoma.
