Dr. Carla Back-Madruga is a Neuropsychology/Psychology Expert Witness. Currently, she is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at USC, the Director of Neuropsychology Service at the Rand Schrader Health and Research Center at USC, an Expert Reviewer for the California Board of Psychology, and a clinical neuropsychologist in her private practice.
Dr. Back-Madruga received her B.A. degree in Psychology (Cum Laude) in 1988 from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After that, she studied M.A. and Ph.D., both in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, California and received her degrees in 1991 and 1994 respectively.
Dr. Back-Madruga has been extensively involved in peer reviewed research articles. A few of these are: No increase in depression with lowdose maintenance peginterferon in prior non-responders with chronic hepatitis C – Journal of Affective Disorders, 129, 205-212; Cognitive function does not worsen during long-term low-dose peginterferon therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C – American Journal of Gastroenterology, 105(7), 1551-1560; Cognitive reserve and neuropsychological functioning in patients with hepatitis C – Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, 13(4), 687-692; and Cognitive function does not worsen during peginterferon and ribavirin treatment of chronic hepatitis C – Hepatology, 45(5), 1154-1163.
Dr. Back-Madruga has also given professional presentations.
