A Meteorology Expert who is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist since 2017 and a former Member of the Severe Local Storms Committee of the AMS.
He holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Sciences, M.S. in Meteorology, and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric, Environmental, and Water Resources (AEWR).
This expert was part of the NWS Central Region Service Assessment team for the heavy rain and flooding event over the mid-Mississippi Valley region that occurred on 25 April–6 May 2017. His duties were to contact the science and operations officers (SOOs) at six NWS offices to examine the use and effectiveness of social media/emerging technologies; determine if there were science or modeling issues; find out about communication and dissemination issues/needs; and help write the report that was requested by NWS Central Region.
He has reviewed over 100 papers for professional, peer-reviewed journals, and was recognized for this service by the AMS Editor’s Award in 2004 for Weather and Forecasting. In addition, he was the keynote speaker for three conferences, a guest/invited speaker for 21 various events, and a presenter for at least 14 other local-to-national conferences, webinars, and/or workshops.
