Alan Johnson, MA, LMFT is an Alcohol & Drug Expert Witness and has over 20 years experience working with individuals who struggle with alcoholism. He is the current owner and operator of Bold Recovery, Inc. in Los Angeles, and is a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. As the Owner and Operator of Bold Recovery Inc., Mr. Johnson performs and directs overall clinical operations, and provides substance use disorder services. He started from the ground up and grew a full-service clinical outpatient program-serving individuals involved in the criminal justice system, and specializes in reentry, services, with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation – a large re-entry project Specialized Treatment for Optimized Programming (STOP).
Mr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the Towson State University, Towson, MD in 1991 and Master Degree in Clinical Psychology (Marriage and Family Therapist Program) from Antioch University, Los Angeles, CA in 2005. He also holds a Certificate in Human Services and a Certificate in Drug and Alcohol Counseling which he received from the Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles, CA in 2002.
Mr. Johnson has served as the President of the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC), helping develop and refine the certification and educational components of the organization. He has decades of experience working in various substance abuse programs as well as owning and operating his own recovery center.
Mr. Johnson has received numerous awards for his service in the addiction field, including the George C. Cobb award, Hall of Fame Award, and the Dean of Fellow given by the California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors.
