Charles H. Hammersley, Ph.D., M.Ed., B.S. is a Recreation Management Expert Witness who is presently a Professor at Northern Arizona University and an Associate Professor at Arizona University. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at University of Maine – Presque Isle where he taught computer applications in leisure services, management of leisure services and program planning.
Dr. Hammersley earned his BS in Recreation from University of Florida, Gainesville, and M.Ed. in Recreation Administration from Georgia State University, Atlanta. After that, he did Ph.D. in Education from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, where he majored in Recreation Management.
Dr. Hammersley is currently teaching PRM core classes and in the Community Commercial Recreation Management emphasis. He has designed and developed 11 web-based/web enhanced PRM courses. He assisted in reviewing and redesigning the PRM major curriculum, and directed the Arizona Rural and Tribal Recreation Project. He also designed the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association and Red Rock Canyon, NCA web sites.
Dr. Hammersley is a published author. His publications include five books, ten refereed articles, four articles in published proceedings of national meetings (all peer reviewed), three special invited publications, six other academic publications and 12 monographs.
