Construction Expert. CON-1396 was affiliated with the University of California for 30 years before starting a private consulting practice in 1992. With the university, he developed and conducted a program, in cooperation with lumber manufacturers, for more efficient utilization of wood in California. He also studied wood design and construction and wood decay from biological and environmental effects. In 1985 he became the head of the universitys Wood Building Research Center. CON-1396 has published over 80 papers on wood-related issues. He has been a visiting professor at Oregon State University and manager of the Durable Woods Institute in San Francisco.
