Dr. Powers has maintained his own clinical practice with the focus mainly of ortho and neurological patients. He has worked with two insurance companies on setting up a physical therapy network, quality assurance and utilization review. He also consults for hospitals and private practices in areas of space design; program development and restructuring in a managed care environment have also served as a consultant to a number of the physical therapy schools in the Los Angeles area.

Dr. Powers have done projects for National Medical Enterprises, American Professional Management, Sport Clubs, Health Fitness America, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, University of California, University of Southern California, California State University Long Beach and Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center.
