Jeffrey A. Suway, MSCE, P.E. – an Accident Reconstruction/Human Factors/Lighting/Civil Engineer Expert Witness, is an accident reconstructionist with specialties in human factors, lighting issues, and complex night visibility and conspicuity. Mr. Suway has extensive involvement in research and has numerous publications and has given numerous presentations. He analyzes human factors issues, such as typical human behavior, human perception, and signage.
Mr. Suway earned a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a specialty in Transportation Safety from the George Washington University through the National Crash Analysis Center (NCAC), and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University. He has testified as an expert in Accident Reconstruction and Human Factors, including complex visibility and conspicuity analyses.
Mr. Suway has extensive experience conducting complex 3-dimensional accident reconstructions and simulations. He performs mechanical inspections for component failure and driveability issues in light-duty passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, buses, and other equipment. Mr. Suway is qualified to download and analyze all types of Event Data Recorders and is certified in the download and analysis of Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) data.
Mr. Suway conducts and analyzes complex visibility and conspicuity issues and recreations. These recreations allow for analysis of when or if pedestrians, vehicles, or other objects are visible. Additionally, Mr. Suway creates forensically accurate photographs and videos for demonstrative evidence.
