Jeffrey B. Hicks, MPH, CIH, QEP is a Technical Expert Witness who is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Qualified Environmental Professional. Mr. Hicks’ areas of experience include, but are not limited to, environmental health investigations related to industrial settings, concerns of environmental contamination, and indoor air quality in the built environment.
Mr. Hicks did B.S. in Biochemistry from University of California, Davis in 1974 and M.P.H. in Public Health/Industrial Hygiene from University of California, Berkeley in 1977. He became a Certified Industrial Hygienist from American Board of Industrial Hygiene in 1981 and got recertified in 1987, 1994, 2000, 2005, and 2010. In addition to that, he became a Qualified Environmental Professional from Institute of Professional Environmental Practice in 1996 and got recertified in 2001, and 2006.
Mr. Hicks has peer reviewed publications on pollutants in the indoor environment and on indoor air quality. Mr. Hicks is affiliated with the CAL/OSHA Advisory Committee, Minimum Ventilation Standard, as a technical consultant, the University of California Extension (Davis) Health and Safety Certificate Advisory Board, and the U.S. EPA Peer Review Panel for Indoor Air Quality.
He has performed indoor air pollution/building illness investigations, workplace chemical and dust exposure assessments, ambient air toxic measurements and studies, and source emission measurements from a wide variety of combustion devices. Furthermore, Mr. Hicks has taught public health, safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, and related courses for the University Extension programs at UC Davis and UC Berkeley since 1982.
