John T. Lehr, M.D. is a Medical Expert Witness and a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and has completed a Fellowship of Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery. Dr. Lehr is a Medical Director of Lakeside Surgery Center; an Assistant Professor at The University of Central Florida School of Medicine; and a Clerkship Faculty at Florida State University Medical School. He also developed the retina department at an eye institute.
Dr. Lehr did Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY from September 1979 to June 1983 and MD with Research Distinction at University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL from September 1983 to May 1987. Furthermore, he did Internship (Internal Medicine) at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, FL from June 1987 to June 1988, Residency (Ophthalmology) at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York, NY from August 1988 to June 1991 and Fellowship (Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery) at Baylor College of Medicine McPherson Associates in Houston, TX from July 1991 to July 1993.
Dr. Lehr has had several peer reviewed publications. These include “Obesity Linked to Leading Cause of Blindness in U.S.” – Executive Health Exams Newsletter (Volume 4, Number 58 on April 5, 2004), “Managing a Case of ARMD with Metamorphopsia” – Ophthalmic Case Consultations (5:2/3, 2001) and “Comparitive Study of the Effects of Salinomycin and Monensin on Electrophysiologic and Contractile Properties of Canine Myocardium” – European Journal of Pharmacology: (100) 321-327, 1984.
Dr. Lehr has been a Principal Investigator/Sub Investigator for the following Clinical Trials Research as well since 2009. Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network – Sub Investigator:- Protocol L: Evaluation of Visual Acuity Measurements in Eyes with Diabetic Macular Edema, Protocol O: Comparison of Time Domain OCT and Spectral Domain OCT Retinal Thickness Measurement in Diabetic Macular Edema, Protocol P: A Pilot Study in individuals with Center Involved DME undergoing cataract surgery, Protocol Q: An Observational Study in individuals with Diabetic Retinopathy without Center Involved DME undergoing cataract surgery and Principal Investigator:- MacuSight, Inc. – “A Phase 2, Randomized, Masked, Controlled Clinical Study to asess the Safety and Efficacy of Lucentis plus Sirolimus versus Lucentis plus Placebo in patients with Sub-Foveal Choroidal Neovascularization Secondary to age related Macular Degeneration” (Protocol AMD-003).
