Jose L. Fuentes, Ph.D. is a Neuropsychologist Expert Witness and a Clinical Neuropsychologist. He completed a two-year, APA-accredited post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology through the University of California Los Angeles with an emphasis on effort testing, and cross cultural/bilingual neuropsychological assessment.
Dr. Fuentes received B.S. degree in Behavioral Science, M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, M.A. in Experimental Psychology (APA-Accredited Program) and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (APA-Accredited Program) from the Loma Linda University. He completed his Internship from the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Fellowship from the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Fuentes also has experience with probate and assessments of undue influence or testamentary capacity. He has training and expertise in performing these evaluations with both living and deceased testators. He is a recognized expert and has testified up through the federal court level in medical-legal cases, forensic neuropsychological evaluations, determination of capacity and competency, and cases under IDEA.
As the Executive Director at The Interact Program of FFC, Inc. (Loma Linda, CA), Dr. Fuentes operated family education programs which provided services to families with individuals (preschool through adult) diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. Services included interventions for severe behavioral issues such as self-abuse, aggression, property destruction and self-stimulatory behaviors. The Interact Program was an interdisciplinary model of intervention incorporating modalities from the fields of psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and special education. All services were provided in English and Spanish by a well-trained bilingual and multi-cultural staff. Also developed a comprehensive database based on a propriety model of data collection to monitor progress and inform a functional direction for intervention.
