Dr. Hu is a Gerontology Expert Witness and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (re-certified in 2009) and in Geriatric Medicine (re-certified in 2011). He received his M.D. degree from School of Medicine at Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China where he was also a Neurosurgery Resident at Huashan Hospital.
Furthermore, Dr. Hu did M.P.H. and Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the UCLA School of Public Health in Los Angeles. He was also an Internal Medicine Resident at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Along with that, he was also a Geriatric Medicine Fellow at the UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor at UCLA, Division of Geriatrics, and South Campus committee member of the UCLA Institutional Review Board (IRB). He is also a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of American Medical Director Association, Journal of Gerontology: Medical Science, and the Journal of American Geriatrics Society.
Dr. Hu states that 100% of the patients he treats are geriatric patients. He does palliative care as well. Dr. Hu also states that hip fractures are quite common in older adults with osteoporosis and that 50% of his patients have osteoporosis. Their risk of falling is 30%. Of this 30%, 1% fracture their hips.
