Robert A. Rauch, CHA is a Hotel & Hospitality Expert Witness who has been a Certified Hotel Administrator since 1983. He has over 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry and is commonly referred to as the “Hotel Guru.”
Mr. Rauch received his bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration from Western International University and his master’s degree in Tourism Administration from Arizona State University. He is the publisher an electronic newsletter called, “Hospitality Innsights,” and a current member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
Mr. Rauch started in the industry as a dishwasher at a Ramada Inns Hotel where worked his way up to General Manger. He has also served as the General Manager for Embassy Suites, Best Western International, Hyatt and Hilton. For over 25 years, he has continued his success in the industry as CEO of R.A. Rauch & Associates and RAR Hospitality where he offers hotel management consulting services.
Mr. Rauch is also the founding director of San Diego Tourism Marketing District, past member of California Hotel and Motel Association as well as past President and Director of San Diego Hotel and Motel Association. In 2005, he was San Diego Hotel and Motel Association Member of the Year and in 2006, the city and county of San Diego declared July 13, “Robert A. Rauch Day.” Mr. Rauch currently owns 8 hotels and states that bed bugs are extremely common. He has been involved in determining whether the bed bugs where already in the hotel, or if they were brought in by a guest.
