Transportation Engineering Expert. TRA-1720 is a professor of civil engineering at an Arizona university, where he has taught since 1984. He is also a consultant to the U.S. Department of Transportation. He has performed research on pavement maintenance for the Federal Highway Administration, on vehicle-pavement interaction for the Arizona Department of Transportation, and on asphalt for the Indiana State Highway Commission. TRA-1720s many papers on transportation engineering have appeared in the Journal of Transportation Engineering and ASTM Journal of Testing and Evaluation.
